Introduction: Caries in early childhood is very common since there are different risk factors such as diet that are possible contributors to the appearance of dental caries in childhood. Design: A systematic review of studies that were evaluated was carried out, which were published between 2015 and 2021. Data sources: A search was performed through PubMed. The eligibility criteria were articles that used: diagnostic criteria for carious teeth, with indication of extracted and filled (ceo-d) criteria used by the World Health Organization (WHO) with calibrated examiners, probabilistic sampling and sample sizes. Study selection: Five previously calibrated reviewers searched, chose and extracted information from the chosen articles. All analyzes together were based on random effects models. Results: 14 articles were included. Some studies indicate that age becomes a risk factor for preschool children to have childhood cavities, which requires more constant tooth brushing and a greater Area Under the Curve (AUC) composed of the daily frequency. consumption of juices could be associated with dental cavities. Conclusions: Early childhood caries (ECC) is a dental disease caused by many factors that affects the primary teeth of children under 6 years of age. This is a very common disease in childhood and can have a negative impact on the well-being of children, while others indicate that breastfeeding is associated with a higher risk of ECC and may also be associated with a lower risk of ECC.

Canales-SermeñoRuth D. Chacaltana-Limaco

Introduction: An impacted tooth is a retained tooth that fails to partially or completely pierce the mucosa, mandibular third molars being more common. This condition is associated with multiple factors such as the interposition of neighboring teeth, bad position of the piece to erupt, very fibrous soft tissues, or when the bone covers the anatomical crown. Objective: to determine the importance of the pre-surgical evaluation of impacted mandibular third molars and the clinical considerations for their extraction. Development: The clinical evaluation of TMI is carried out through the analysis of the possible causes that could predispose to the development of this alteration. Likewise, Pell-Gregory and Winter classify these teeth according to their depth, position and angulation, which allows the extraction to be planned. On the other hand, the importance of orthopantomography as a complementary examination, surgical management, pre-surgical and post-surgical indications, as well as the main complications due to extraction are also highlighted. Conclusions: Before extracting a TMI, it is vital to assess the conditions of the problem piece through its angulation, position, depth and commitment to neighboring structures. That is why the TMI extraction has to be planned and studied to guarantee the patient's recovery in the postoperative period.

Introduction: The cyst is defined as a pathological cavity with liquid, semiliquid, gaseous or solid content, lined internally by epithelium and externally covered by connective tissue. It is usually asymptomatic and most are found by radiography. Cysts in the oral and maxillofacial region can be classified as odontogenic and non-odontogenic; within them is the QR and QD. Its great growth potential leads to asymmetries, paresthesia, dental displacement and even neoplastic transformation. Objective: To determine the importance of the clinical-radiographic considerations of the residual cyst and dentigerous cyst. Development: QD and QR belong to the odontogenic type group. Likewise, the review highlights its own characteristics, clinical assessment, radiographic assessment and data that allow the differential diagnosis for each cyst. Conclusions: Both QR and QD are common conditions in the world population. Its diagnosis is often given by chance, in early stages. They have similar characteristics, but also different ones that allow them to be differentiated. The success in the diagnosis is based on the correct interpretation of the radiographic data.

The chronology of the eruption of permanent teeth is a process that has variations and is manifested by various factors. Braska cited in Morón et al. It tells us that the chronology of the eruption of the permanent dentition is a process in which it is very difficult to establish a pattern or establish an adequate order since it depends on climate, age, weight, socioeconomic factor, among others1.

It is highly controversial to establish an exact chronology for the eruption of permanent teeth, since these depend on multiple factors such as age, sex, race, diet, geographic location, existing diseases, among others. In order to try to establish precise data on the chronology of the eruption of the permanent dentition, systems are used to determine the chronology, such as skeletal, dental, and dental ages1.

Objectives: To establish the chronological sequence of the dental eruption in canines, carrying out various investigations in different studies that indicate, according to their analyzes, that there is a direct relationship with the factors that cause their eruption to be altered. Methods: A bibliographic review was carried out from October to December 2020, using the following search strategy in the database: Scielo, Repository, Medical journals, within which 22 articles related to the subject were considered, taking into account that 90% of the publications and bibliographic reviews were from 2010-2020. Results: In different studies a close relationship was found in the different factors that tend to cause the advance or delay in its appearance. That is why it is necessary to consider investigating the biological factors that can affect the development of the tooth bud.

Conclusion: All the information that has been obtained in this investigation, we conclude that the order of eruption of the mentioned teeth, whether they are upper and lower canines, is affected and is influenced by components such as malnutrition, geographical environment, climate, race, factor environmental, sex and age.

Introduction: The study of growth and development in the human being has a special attraction, since it is a period of great activity, in which each child and adolescent has their own rhythm of growth, which is not a simple reflection of their chronological age. Thus, the biological age of an individual will indicate what part of the maturation process has been achieved, while the chronological age will indicate how long it has lived. The times of emergence and the eruption sequences of the permanent teeth are important to evaluate the growth and development of the child as well as to determine possible internal and external factors that intervene or influence this process. Objective: to describe the chronology of the eruption of permanent teeth in various populations around the world. Method: 27 scientific articles from the PubMed, Scopus and SciELO databases were reviewed, both in Spanish and English. This was carried out according to the protocol of the checklist of the PRISMA declaration, being the eligibility criteria, population of children and adolescents between 4 and 15 years old and who had an informed consent, in addition the examiners, had to be trained to perform clinical evaluation. Results: In both boys and girls, the first tooth to erupt was the first mandibular molar at 4.9 years old and the last tooth to do this was the second maxillary molar at the age of 13.41 years. Conclusions: The most predominant factors that determine the advance or delay of the eruption are: nutritional, genetic, socio-economic, environmental, racial, sex, age and other factors.

Pregnant women present different changes in the skeletal system, such as the increase in calcium throughout this period, there are also small reductions in bone density. Orthodontic tooth movement is based on the principles of tissue resorption and formation at the level of the surrounding bone and periodontal ligament. It should be noted that there are multiple factors that affect the speed of this type of movement. During pregnancy and lactation, certain alterations in orthodontic dental movement may be perceived, caused by changes in bone homeostasis, alterations in tooth resorption and observed bone deposition. In this article we will cover topics such as the physiology and history of pregnancy, as well as the analysis of various articles related to orthodontic dental movement in pregnant women.

OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to compare treatment with the Invisalign system and treatment applying conventional or traditional orthodontics, with smile design as the main indicator. MATERIAL AND METHODS The method used was the exploratory systematic review, carried out according to the protocol based on the approval list of the PRISMA declaration. This study began by selecting the studies that compared the Invisalign technique and traditional orthodontics, to later exclude those that do not have smile design as the main indicator. RESULTS The number of studies with these characteristics found in the PUB MED database were 2 studies related to the smile design approach and 9 studies focused on periodontal health, pain perception, smile design technique and correct dental occlusion. CONCLUSION We can affirm that in the case of traditional orthodontic treatment it is superior to Invisalign treatment, consequently, it seems to be more than fixed appliances and traditional orthodontics seem to be more effective for better the variables that quantify the result after orthodontic treatment, while Although Invisalign treatment is not effective in all types of patients, considerable results can be observed in certain cases. It should be noted that it is always necessary to review more studies in order to corroborate these results.

Objective: To determine the efficacy of the Mandibular Canine Index technique with permanent dentition to estimate sex in humans. Methodology: Descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional study, where 200 plaster models of men and women were evaluated. Intercanine distances and mesiodistal diameters of the left and right canines were obtained using a digital vernier caliper with a resolution of 0.01mm. The sexual dimorphism of the right canine and the left canine was then determined. After that, the ICM averages were determined. Results: The ICM with permanent dentition obtained an efficiency of 69% to estimate the male sex and 67% of the female sex. Conclusions: The Mandibular Canine Index (CMI) technique with permanent dentition is effective for estimating sex in humans.

Introduction: The dental implant is a dental solution that helps the aesthetics of the human being, especially those people who have a missing tooth. This treatment must have surgical planning and adequate prosthesis to avoid failure. Objective: To determine the most common factor related to the failure of dental implants and to identify what percentage prevails more over early and late failures. Methodology: review of articles and documents related to the topic on factors related to dental implant failure. Bases such as Pubmed and Scielo will be used. The research covered the periods from 2015 to 2020 and the PRISMA checklist was used to execute the review. Results: five articles were selected. All reported different factors on the failure of dental implants or prostheses: however, there were 2 articles that agreed that they were due to the osseointegration factor. Conclusion: the osseointegration process was identified as the most frequent cause of dental failures (early phase).

This research aims to determine the pathologies associated with the eruption of the third molar in order to have a broader and more comprehensive picture of the subject. Specifically, we focus on the third molar that usually erupts between approximately 18 and 25 years of age, as well as its different stages of the growth period, which are initiation, proliferation, histodifferentiation, morphodifferentiation and apposition. It also indicates the anatomical considerations of the third molar with respect to its different positions and how its normal evolution is altered. It also indicates the pathogenesis of the eruption of the third molars which can have a triple onset, since the first can be of an infectious type from the oral cavity, the second is of a mechanical type with respect to lack of space and the third is of neurological origin, for which each one of them is detailed.

Objective: The objective was to determine the factors associated with gingivitis in pregnant women who come to the health center in the district of San José de Sisa. Methodology: The research was of a basic type and the research design was non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational. The population and sample was the same as the population, that is, 110 pregnant women from the District of San José de Sisa with a non-probabilistic sampling for convenience to which a questionnaire of 5 questions on oral hygiene habits and sociodemographic factors and a clinical evaluation to observe the gingival state were provided. Results: The study revealed that the associated factors were socioeconomic status where it was found that 43.5% at the mean level had gingivitis with a p value = 0.002, with reference to the age group 48.2% with gingival disease were between 20 and 29 years old with a p value = 0.280; 43.6% of pregnant women with gingivitis reported brushing at least 2 times a day when obtaining a p =0.098, el 41.7% in the second trimester presented gingivitis with a p value = 0.004. When comparing the information of the degree of instruction it was found that pregnant women with gingivitis were found that 40% had only primary and 39.1% secondary, when obtaining a p value = 0.000. Conclusions: It concluded that there is a significant relationship between gingivitis and socioeconomic status (p=0.002), with the trimester of pregnancy (p=0.004), and with the degree of education of the pregnant woman (p=0.000); but found no statistical relationship with the age group (p=0.280) or with oral hygiene habits (p=0.098).

The general objective of the present investigation was to relate the presence of exogenous black pigmentations in deciduous dentition and the consumption of ferrous sulfate, in children between 2 and 5 years of age, attended at the Bellavista-Sullana Health Center. The methodology used had a quantitative approach and a non-experimental-correlational, crosssectional design. The technique to be used was the survey and clinical observation. The instruments used were a questionnaire and a graphic scheme that allowed us to record the information of the pigmented teeth using the Albelda M classification (1), both instruments were developed exclusively for this research. The population consisted of 150 children who attended the Bellavista-Sullana Health Center in the period of July-September 2021, the sample being 108 children. The study found that exogenous black pigmentations in deciduous dentition, in children aged 2 to 5 years, are manifested in 29.6% of children, showing that the majority of children (27 of 32, 84.4%) presented grade I pigmentation Likewise, it was concluded that the presence of spots is not significantly related (Sig.> 0.05), neither with the age of the child, nor with sex; In addition, I make it clear that the time that the child has been consuming ferrous sulfate, the type of presentation of said product, the daily intakes and the time after the ingestion of foods that take ferrous sulfate, are not significantly associated (Sig .> 0.05) with the presence of black spots on the adamantine surface of the children evaluated. It was also found that neither brushing to consume ferrous sulfate, nor the number of times the child was found to be significantly related (Sig.> 0.05) with the presence of black spots. Keywords: chromogenic pigmentations. Ferrous sulfate.

Hypomineralization is becoming more frequent every day. If molars containing enamel rupture are found in pediatric patients and present dentin exposure caused by MIH, it is necessary for patients to undergo some treatment to manage this pathogen (5). One of the objectives of this review is to present the different treatments that facilitate the restoration and maintenance of adequate oral health, affected by MIH. Methods: The studies were analyzed from 2017 to 2022, these found in Pubmed, Scopus, Ebsco, Proquest and Science Direct. To carry out the systematic direction, the PRISMA guidelines were followed, the evolution of quality, and the risk of bias was carried out considering the criteria set forth in the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute – NHLBI tool. Results: After applying the keywords for the search, 1498 articles were found, in which exclusion and inclusion criteria were applied, duplicated, in addition, they passed through different filters where 171 were evaluated and 8 of them were chosen. Therefore, The data obtained from these articles were ordered for the extraction of information, and the study standards such as methodology and results were followed. Conclusion: The results obtained from the 8 articles demonstrate the different treatments used in the last 5 years to treat molar-incisor hypomineralization, even so, more studies are needed to investigate more treatments, clinical protocols, therapeutics, used in patients with MIH in the last 5 years.

Introduction: The ailments that affect the gums are called gingivitis, this disease is considered the second oral variation, it begins approximately at 5 years of age, that is, early childhood, that is why the objective of this investigation is to know factors associated with gingivitis in children, examining studies related to our terms of inclusion. Methods: A review of written publications was carried out, searching for the terms of gingivitis, diagnosis, treatment, etiology, focusing on bibliographic reviews dating from recent years. Results: The most important local predisposition in children is inadequate oral hygiene that leads to the accumulation of bacterial plaque, but there are other factors that can affect the intensity and severity of periodontitis in these patients. B. Immunological, microbiological and clinical characteristics. Conclusions: Among the predisposing factors that pediatric patients present in relation to gingivitis, we find the accumulation of bacterial plaque, microbiological, morphological and immunological characteristics, the correct diagnosis of this pathology allows successful periodontal therapy, such as non-surgical periodontal treatment since with this a decrease in the concentration of pro-inflammatory cytokine is achieved.
