These may include, for example, ethical problems or problems of access to data or materials. Very occasionally, concerns may also be related to the implications for the society of the publication of an article, including security threats. In such circumstances, advice will generally be sought simultaneously with the technical review process by pairs. As in all publication decisions, the final decision to publish is the responsibility of the editor of the magazine in question.
